Nantucket Sleigh Ride!

Carol Kaesuk Yoon's Naming Nature: The Clash Between Instinct and Science (Norton, 2009) grabbed the brass ring of the Washington State Book Award for general nonfiction.

Carol will be reading and speaking at the award ceremony, on October 8th.

From The Seattle Times,
Bellingham author Yoon explores the tension between evolutionary biology and taxonomy, the classification system first proposed by Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus. This book won a "best book of 2009" designation by New Scientist and Library Journal, and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

That's awesome, Carol!
